Adelaide... My 2nd more in-depth trip...

Yes! It was not planned for...

I intended to go New York, so I had taken a week's off. But unfortunately due to some unforeseen misunderstanding, the New York trip was cancelled and thus, I am left with either to cancel my leave or to just go ahead and sleep at home.

But there was the lift upgrading work reno at my block this period and thus, it is not advisable to be at home. Thus I was just surfing the internet for some tour packages and chanced upon a good SQ promotion - a direct flight to Adelaide at only S$650! It was a good deal! Direct flight is only around 6.5 hours!

It was already Friday and my leave will start next Wed... So if I were to really fly over, I need to fly Tue night and come back on Sunday, barely 5 days... Oh well, I decided not to think too much and just do it! So I tried to book on the internet but strangely, there was an error... So I called Chan brothers and apparently usually people need to book flights at least 3 working days in advance and mine was just 2 days! that's why the internet booking didn't go through...

To get it done, I need to rush down to Chan Brothers before 630pm to make the booking and pay a fee for the agent to help. Well, it was worth it anyway, so I rushed down immediately to make the payment and WALAH! I got the tickets!!!

All ready to FLY! And I was so lucky that i have 2 good friends who can babysit me! Yeah! Free accomodations and companions for the 5 days! :)

It was such a smooth flight and I simply loved it! Unexpectedly, I didn't fall asleep that much this time. I was feeling good and decided to watch some movies. Finally I catched "Silver Linings playbook"! It was a totally awesome movie!!! Definitely will reco to my friends!

Reached Adelaide at 810am... But OMG! The security checks were super tight!!! The first time I was asked to stand in a straight line and a police dog was brought close to all of us to sniff us!!!! OMG! I was basically freaking out but I must still maintain a poker face, just in case they thought I was hiding anything! And... I was stopped at all security check point! Every one asked me the same thing... "You here for 5 days only?" "Going anywhere else?" " Staying at a friend's place? Where?"

Wow lau eh! So strange leh! Why can't I come alone to visit friends for just 5 days???? Hahaha!!!

Anyway, finally after many many checks and questions, I am finally out of the gate!!! WooHoooo!!! Poor thing, my friend Kayne had been waiting for me at least 30min! :p

We went back to his place (at Glenelg) to put my stuff and to have a fresh change of clothes before heading out for coffee and a bite... The weather was nice... Although it was just 7 or 10 deg, but to me, it is not that cold! Love it!!!

Nice 2 bedroom apartment near the beach...

We have a lazy afternoon, chatting and lazing around... We have a light lunch at Jetty hotel and enjoying the nice weather.

Thereafter, we went to Cibo for another coffee (the cuppucino sucks!) before we headed back to the apartment for a rest.

We have a good evening watching a movie at home (This is 40!) and had a cosy home-cooked dinner. I forced him to cook me some fried food! LOL! Springroll and french fries! And of cos my fav maggie mee!!! :p

The next day, we went to the German village... Had a lazy afternoon! :)

It was a very sunny day! I think I brought the sun from SG here!!! :)

We have a very good dinner at a nice Thai restaurant - yummy tom yam soup! :) And after that, I was so excited to go to an outdoor movie! I have never been to one! It was my first experience and I loved it!!! :)

We were early but there were already cars there waiting nicely.... So exciting!!!

Finally the movie is opened!!!

We had to tune into the station to hear the movie inside our car while we watch the big screen outside. It was soooo fun! I didn't know there is such thing!

All the cars were parked nicely at the lots specified...

Lucky the weather was cold, I love it! I can snuggle in the car under the blanket!!! :)

This was a movie by Sandra Bullock... Super funny movie!!! Love it!!! :)

It was a fun day! Crashed in bed the moment we went back... Hahah! :)

The next day, we had another lazy day too... It was Friday and it was drizzling, finally! The past 2 days were bright sunlight! Anyway, we went for coffee and a drive to the hills and burnside... It was fun... and lazy! We also went to a small town called Aldinga (I think)... And visited the best bakery shop in that place! Super nice pies!!!

At night, we went to some bars along Glenelg and also took a cab to Hensley beach - bacchus bar with Kayne's fren Paul.. It was crowded over there! But it was drizzling, so we were a bit drench.

We partied till late and I was feeling hungry! I didn't have my carbo for the day!! So we went to buy some nice french fries! Kayne said it was the best french fries there. Hahah!! so I had to try!

It was fantastic! But eating fries at 1am in the morning??? It was SINFUL! But I don't care!!! I am on holiday!!! :p

The next day, I left Kayne's place and met my next fren, Ben whom I will be staying over for one night. He was going to a Footy game and I wanted to go! I have never been to a football game before and he told me that this is Aussie football, very different from soccer! It was fun!!!

Unfortunately, Port Adelaide was up against the strong team, Melbourne team... So they lost... :(

After the game, I was hungry! So we went to have Chinese food, my fav!!! And after that, we went to a nice lounge called The Loft to have a nice drink... Had a good chat and decided to have an early night.

His parent's place was nice and cosy... They have a real fireplace!! with REAL woods!! Hahaha!!! I am really suaku!!!

I have never seen a real fireplace before!!! This was really a nice experience! :)

The upstairs was nice too. They have a huge entertainment area with 2 bedrooms...

And this is the bedroom that I will be crashing for a night.. It was such a nice bed! And I had a good sleep! :)

The next day was my last day before going to the airport. So we went for a late breakfast at Queen Street Cafe before going back home to watch the Netball finals.. Apparently Adelaide team was against Brisbane team for the final champion... It was a very exciting game and finally, Adelaide team won!!! Yeah! :)

Time passed very fast... I was dozing off during the netball game.. I didn't expect myself to be soooo tired!!!

Ben sent me to the airport and I was totally so tired by then... It has been a really relaxing and pampered 5 days (pampered by 2 good frens!!)... And the nice cool weather made me feel very happy and relaxed... :)

This was really a good trip and I am glad I made the impulse decision to just come here! :)
